Motivational Writing

A friend of mine just gave me an idea. He is a great thinker; but most importantly, he puts his thoughts on paper; and that is what counts. What I am getting at is this: if words are put down on paper, the right kind of words, the result can be something exceedingly powerful, and to give it biblical connotations, can move mountains.

Here I am admitting an impediment in my case. I will soon get to the idea that this distinguished friend of mine gave me. But first, let me elaborate my impediment. Of late, I have had little desire to write on my website; or to put it more appropriately, I lost the drive. So many crazy things have occurred of late, and as my sincere subscribers, I am certain you would like to know more about that which I describe as crazy, and of course, in your broad hearts, find room to sympathize.

It is interesting how we often solicit for sympathy, huh? We want someone out there to agree with us, namely, that we are going through very hard times, even though the intensity may be insignificant compared to what others are going through. But you have to understand that the fabric that holds society together is diversity, peculiarity and uniqueness. What I mean by that is that even though we essentially go through the same things, our individuality often gives the experiences a new dimension each time, and a little sympathy is in order.

To clearly elaborate the debilitating experiences I have gone through, and about to go through, I will give you a case scenario.

There was once a young man of good repute in his community. You may know him if you are acquainted with Christianity. His name was Paul. He was well versed in the Law and Jewish traditions. Inspired by the Pharisees—for indeed, he was one of them—he pursued a fanatical course of persecuting and prosecuting the Christians. He firmly believed that he was right in carrying out this course. To him, the disciples of Jesus were pests that needed to be eliminated.

However, just at the acme of his pursuit of justice, the Lord Jesus appeared to him and halted his murderous course. The shock of it was astronomical in his case: the cause he had dedicatedly been pursing turned out to be far from right! He was forced to rescind, and for a goodly amount of time, repent and thoughtfully medicate, apparently on how wrong he had been.
So now he had to change his course: from persecuting the Christians, he now had to do otherwise and be a part of them—be a vessel for the Lord to the nations. But this was not as easy as it sounds. He had to face up to the consequences of his actions, for the Christians were reluctant to accept him. It seemed beyond belief that this one time Christian-murderer was now a believer. But in due time, everything turned out fine.

What I would like you to glean from this story is how terribly hard it was for Paul to undergo this transition. Yes, sometimes in life, we are forced to go through a transition; and sometimes, full transitions. The process is often confusing, debilitating and depressing. Most people end up losing their sense, adopting a transient lifestyle of degraded practices.

This in effect is what I have been and I am going through. I will not go into details about what exactly this transformation is all about, no. but I can only tell you that I am undergoing such a transformation.

Let’s get back to the happier things.

I currently have a page running on my website. It is titled Motivation for writers. Take a peek at it if you have not yet:

But I have been rather sloppy of late, and I have found that instead of offering such motivation, I am the one in need of such motivation. I have discovered that I need a little bit of help in this area. This is where my friend comes in. he is a genius when it comes to this area, and so, I want him to share his ingenious ideas with you all. I am going to plead with him to manage this page for me. Keep your fingers crossed.
