Formatting your book will involve choosing an appropriate font face and size; choosing the correct line spacing; dividing your work into chapters; inserting page numbers, headings, subheadings, table of contents, appendixes, and other references; correcting positioning and labeling your diagrams, charts, tables, and graphics; and any other formatting that may be necessary.

3. Edit your book:

 

For most people, editing a book means reading through the book on the computer and running the spelling and grammar check in their word processor. However, this does not suffice.

To correctly edit your book, it is important to have it printed out. This is because there are so many errors that you won’t be able to spot on screen. Preferably, it is important to have your book proof-read by someone else.

4. Compile your book into an eBook using an EBook compiler.

Tentatively speaking, your word document, on its own, is an eBook. However, a word document is among the poorest format to choose for your eBook. This is because it is easy for someone to alter its contents to her heart’s content. In other words, it offers very little security.

PDF documents can be secured with passwords, and several other security measures or policies that prevent a reader from altering your content or copying it. Of course, they are not a hundred percent perfect. Unscrupulous individuals are still able to breech these security measures. After you decide which format you want for you ebook, choose the appropriate compiler. You can buy these software from the internet, and most of them come with trial versions so you can try which one works well for you.

5. Create a Cover for you Ebook:

 

This is one of the most important thing you will ever do. An attractive ebook cover will entice people to buy your book.
